Picture your newborn: the first three months
When taking photos of your newborn, pay attention to the details and capture the newness and beauty of the first three months.
First Moments
Your baby will have thousands of first-ever moments, and you can share every one with family and friends by creating a Baby’s First Year Memory Book or Share site. Some ideas to get you started:

Major milestones: four to six months
Baby is growing in leaps and bounds. This exciting stage is characterized by a range of facial expressions and greater motor control. Your baby will probably learn to flip or roll over, push up onto all fours and rock, possibly crawl, hold a bottle or a toy and sit up with help. Some ways to capture this time of great discovery:
Silly smiles
As the first real smiles and giggles begin to fill your baby’s face, take close-ups of new expressions for sterling bracelets and necklaces or charming coasters featuring a series of smiles, including:
• Giggling at Daddy making funny faces
• Laughing at Mommy playing peek-a-boo
• Watching a reflection in the mirror
• Grinning and showing a first tooth

Hitting stride: seven to nine months
Baby is starting to sit up and get around providing many new photo possibilities. Keep your camera ready to tell the story of baby’s day: waking up, on the changing table, getting dressed, eating, in the stroller, napping, playing and bedtime. Some more ideas to add to baby’s story:
Getting around
Your baby’s first attempts at exploring and trying to stand look great on luggage tags and fridge magnets. Photograph baby getting around with on-the-go shots including:
• Crawling and chasing after a ball
• Pulling up on crib and standing
• Ready to go in the car seat or stroller
• Exploring kitchen cabinets or under the table

The last of baby’s first year: ten to twelve months
The last few months of baby’s first year are an especially active time. You have to be quick on the shutter because baby is on the move. Whether he is pulling up, standing or taking first steps toward greater independence, it won’t be long until he’s off exploring the world.
Happy Firsts
Baby’s first birthday is the perfect time to celebrate all the firsts that happened throughout the year. For birthday party invitations, create a collage greeting card using photos from the last eleven months. Then make a photo book of firsts for yourself, including pictures of your baby:
• Wearing first pair of shoes
• Drinking from a sippy cup for the first time
• Experiencing first rain or snow
• Enjoying their 1st birthday cake
