FAQs & troubleshooting Related pages
Can’t find the answer to your question here? Contact us Q: How do I add pictures to an album? Q: How can I tell how many pictures I have in an album? Q: How do I delete pictures from an album? Click the green View & enhance button on the main navigation bar. Then select the album by checking the spot underneath it, and then click the Pictures selector to get to the ‘My pictures’ page and view the pictures in that album. On the View Pictures page, select the picture(s) you want to delete by checking the checkbox(es) underneath them. Then click Organize pictures (on the right) to list the organizing options. Then click Delete pictures. A pop-up window will open asking you to confirm the deletion. Click OK to delete the picture(s). Q: Can I download, save, or copy pictures that are on the Shutterfly site? You can save a lower-resolution version of the picture by using the right mouse button to click on an image in your account and selecting the ‘Save picture as’ or ‘Save image as’ option. (If you are using a Macintosh hold down the control key while clicking.) Pictures copied in this manner are generally suitable for viewing on a monitor, but are not suitable for uses that require higher resolution images, like printing. Q: What are “picture titles and captions”? Why would I want to edit them, and how? To edit picture details within an album: Click the green View & enhance button on the main navigation bar. Then select the album by checking the spot underneath it, and then click the Pictures selector to get to the ‘My pictures’ page and view the pictures in that album. Select the pictures whose title(s) or caption(s) you want to edit by checking the checkboxes underneath them. Click Edit titles & captions. On the ‘Edit titles & captions’ page, details of the picture(s) you’ve selected appear. You can change the picture title and/or description for each picture. (The default is the file name plus the date the picture was taken, according to the camera’s time stamp.) When you are finished, click Save now (on the right) to save your changes. Your changes will be saved and you will be returned to the ‘View pictures’ page. Q: How do I rotate my pictures? Then click the Pictures selector to get to the ‘My pictures’ page and view the pictures in that album. On the ‘View pictures’ page, select the picture(s) you want to rotate by using the checkboxes underneath each picture. Under Rotate Selected photos on the bottom right, click on the rotation you want. Rotation options are 90 degrees to the right or left and 180 degrees. You can also rotate pictures on most Enhance pages and most Picture details pages. Q: How can I find specific pictures? You can choose a variety of options to narrow your search. You can limit your search by date range; filename, title or description; whether or not you have ordered a picture; and whether you have marked it as a favorite. Once you have entered the search criteria, click Find now to display the Search results page. You work with the results in a variety of ways, including copying them to a new album, ordering prints of selected pictures, marking them as favorites, and viewing the results as a slideshow. Q: What is the ‘Favorites’ option? To see all of the pictures marked as favorites in your account, just click ‘View all favorites’. This is especially handy when creating products that use multiple pictures, like Photobooks and calendars. Q: Can I adjust the number of pictures that appear on a page? To see the most pictures at once, click ‘Small’. In this view, each page will contain up to 80 pictures. For slightly larger thumbnails, click ‘Medium’ and you will see up to 48 at a time. When you click ‘Large’ you will see the largest thumbnail view. In addition, the ‘large’ view allows you to further adjust the number of pictures shown. If you go to the My Shutterfly page, click the ‘Personal info/settings’ link, and then click to change your account preferences, you can adjust the number of thumbnails displayed in the ‘large’ view from 8 to 48 per page. (This setting also determines how many albums are displayed on your album page.) |
