Q: How should I maintain my Apron?
A: We recommend using machine wash with cold water. We also recommend not using bleach, as this will fade the image over time.

Q: What file format do you accept for the Aprons?
A: Shutterfly only accepts images that are in the JPG format. Also, these JPG images must be saved in the sRGB colorspace.

Q: What resolution should my image be? What does it mean if the image for my Apron is “not recommended”?
A: We recommend a minimum resolution of 1600x1200 for our Aprons. If you receive a ‘not recommended’ warning, then the resolution of your image is too low for the Apron.

(Please note that our recommendations are based ONLY on the overall resolution of your picture, and not on the overall quality or clarity of the original picture. We are not and cannot be responsible for the original picture being blurry or out-of-focus, even if there is sufficient resolution to be ‘recommended’.)

Pictures that fall below our recommended resolution guidelines may look okay when viewed online, but will appear blurry and pixelated — that is, the image will appear blocky, with jagged rather than straight edges — when enlarged and printed.

To check the resolution of your pictures once you have transferred them to Shutterfly, go to the View page and click on the thumbnail image; you will then see a larger version of the picture, with recommended print sizes. Above these, hold your cursor over the lowercase ‘i’. Among the information displayed you will find the resolution.

Q: Can I add a border to the image on the Apron?
A: Yes, any one of our decorative borders can be added to an Apron. Please note that the addition of a decorative border will reduce the image size.

Q: Can I add text to my Apron?
A: Shutterfly offers customers the ability to add text to their Aprons by the use of our Caption borders. These borders allow text to be added either on or below the image (depending on the type of border that is chosen). As with all our enhancement tools, there is no additional charge for adding text.

Q: Will an invoice arrive with the Apron?
A: Shutterfly does understand that orders placed from our site are sent as gifts. A packing slip is included with all orders shipped, however it does not include pricing information. Pricing information regarding the order will be sent to the customer in their order confirmation email. We also offer customers the ability to include gift notes when shipping the order to other customers.
