Sr. Network Engineer/Architect

Requirements:

You define yourself as a hands-on architect. You have the experience and vision for how to scale large networks with high volume. Slinging packets is your thing. And you are keenly aware of how to measure the trajectory, speed and volume of your sling (and maybe 10 other dimensions, to boot). You have a demonstrated ability to leverage new technology when appropriate. You enjoy playing the field, not just short stop. You have an arsenal of (largely open source) tools in your toolkit for measuring, monitoring, reporting and understanding the data traversing your networks. You understand the fundamentals of capacity planning to the core; you’ve done it before and can do it again. You get the complexities involved and can clearly articulate the path forward.

Your sound judgment will be leveraged on a daily basis, making decisions that directly impact availability and uptime for www.shutterfly.com. You are a seasoned network engineer that is able to consider multiple facets of any problem set, weighing risk, cost, time and resources to guide you.
