Sr. Manager, eCommerce

The Sr. Manager of eCommerce will provide leadership on key eCommerce initiatives within Shutterfly.com to continuously improve our customer shopping experience. Reporting to the Director of eCommerce, this seasoned eCommerce professional will serve as the business lead for selected eCommerce projects, use site analytics to drive informed business recommendations, and develop site tests aimed at optimizing business goals. This role is focused on driving a compelling and frictionless eCommerce experience for our customers. It is perfect for someone who is interested in using his/her business acumen, eCommerce expertise, and analytic skills to drive exceptional short- and long-term business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as business lead for selected eCommerce projects, establishing business requirements and providing guidance to the project team on implementation choices.
  • Define and monitor key eCommerce metrics and use site analytics insights as the basis for business recommendations on changes needed to the site.
  • Serve as eCommerce lead for site testing plans, driving A/B tests and longitudinal tests to optimize site conversion.
  • Partner with key cross-functional teams to ensure all relevant organizational goals and implications are factored into eCommerce projects.
  • Provide expertise on current eCommerce industry best practices. Consult on cross-functional projects to ensure eCommerce principles are incorporated.
  • Identify new areas of eCommerce opportunity beyond current organizational thinking.

Key Metrics:

  • Conversion from customer visit to order, by product category
  • Average Order Size
  • Cart Abandon Rate, by product category
  • Revenue per customer visit

Experience:

  • 7+ years marketing experience with 5+ years in an eCommerce medium- to large-company, ideally consumer retail.
  • BA/BS degree in economics, mathematics, marketing, or related fields; MBA preferred.
  • Clear understanding of eCommerce industry best-practices, able to effectively benchmark site capabilities to best-in-class sites.
  • Demonstrated track record developing & driving measurable results through projects to improve website conversion.
  • Demonstrated success in driving complex projects within cross functional teams including Product Management and Engineering.
  • Outstanding analytical skills, strong experience interpreting test results & drawing conclusions.
  • Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), both in articulating his/her ideas and gathering input from key stakeholders.
  • Comfortable creating presentations & presenting to broad groups including senior management.
  • Innovative thinker able to operate both in strategic capacity, but also with laser-focus on flawless execution.
  • Ideally, experience using Omniture to track website user behavior.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
