Senior Software Engineer - Job #DK-1115

Develop consumer facing web based applications on Java platform. Other required technologies include XML, SQL, and HTML. Develop software solutions on both Windows and Linux platforms. Understand online e-commerce concepts in general, and pricing and tax calculation, promotions and discounts in particular. Responsibilities include collaboration with product managers, interaction designers, operations and other members of the project team in requirements specification, feasibility analysis, detailed engineering design and deployment. In addition to cross functional communication, responsibilities also include project and technical leadership roles including estimating projects and related tasks, coordination with team members on tasks and issues, code reviews and general oversight for various projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems or related. Employer will accept a combination of academic coursework evaluated as equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related.

• 6 years of progressive work experience in the occupation. Work experience to include 6 years of commercial web development in Java. Experience can be concurrent.

• Work experience to include: Business domain modeling using UML; Java development under Tomcat web container; Multi-threading programming in Java; SQL and database design; Cross-platform development on Windows and Linux; XML specification and processing; Performance tuning tools such as OptimizeIt and JProbe; and Object-oriented analysis and design.
