Senior Software Engineer - Phoenix, AZ

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop new features and products for the Shutterfly website.
• Work cross functionally with Product Marketing, User Experience, Release and QA teams.
• Create technical specifications from business requirements
• Review test cases and advise QA on how to thoroughly test new features.
• Extensive coding and unit testing using Java, Spring, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML and CSS.
• Work with Operations on capacity planning and storage requirements

Specific knowledge, application, technical, educational, and/or management skills required to perform duties as specified:

• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong skills in object-oriented design and API design
• Excellent knowledge of server-side Java J2EE development
• Experience with XML-based technologies including XSLT and XSDs
• Experience with AJAX, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Occasional travel to San Francisco Bay Area is required
• Minimum 5 years experience developing commercial applications.
• BS/MS in Computer Science highly desirable
