Shutterfly Sr. Financial Analyst

The Sr. Financial Analyst will report to the Director of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis and play a key role in supporting Shutterfly’s forecasting and analytical processes. The position will have four key responsibilities in addition to significant ad hoc projects: 1) work with G&A budget managers (HR, Finance, Accounting, Executive and Facilities) to develop budgets/forecasts and report on actual results during month end close and weekly outlook process, 2) help drive continued development of Cognos business intelligence and budgeting tools used by the Company, 3) partner with the accounting department on the monthly close process and the related publication of close analytics package and 4) play a lead role in the maintaining the consolidated financial budget and outlook. The position will report to the Manager of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis.

Responsibilities include:

• Partnering with the G&A departments (HR, Finance, Accounting, Executive, and Facilities) to create department level expense budgets and quarterly forecasts
• Develop and report weekly on changes to G&A department forecasts, as well as drive the weekly consolidated forecast process working closely with the Operations, Marketing and Technology finance functions
• Preparing monthly budget vs. actual variance analyses for the G&A departments as part of close process
• Partnering with the Company’s Accounting team with month end and quarter end close reporting with respect to the close package and the accuracy and completeness of the financial results
• Working closely with the HR department to ensure consistency between hiring plans and budgets, as well as provide real time views to Finance senior management on financial implications of hiring pipeline
• Assist in the development, monitoring and reporting on operational metrics and drive process to improve consistent productivity and efficiency improvement
• Play key role in the ongoing development of the business intelligence and budgeting tools in Cognos and Oracle
• Significant ad hoc financial analysis projects

Experience & Requirements:

• B.S. degree in finance, accounting, or economics
• 4-6 years of financial planning and analysis experience in a large growth company
• Experience should include reporting responsibilities and analytical projects
• Excellent excel skills are assumed
• Systems savvy - Experience with Oracle and Cognos is a plus
• Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to interpret and summarize data to aid management in achieving strategic and operational goals
• Able to work in a fast pace, high-growth environment
