IT MANAGER ?? REDWOOD CITY

Reporting to the IT Director, the IT Manager (Redwood City) will be tasked with maintaining and enhancing the day to day operations of the Shutterfly desktop and corporate information systems environment. Leading a team of around 5 individuals, which includes 2 “to be hired” positions, this is the opportunity to create a world class IT operations team. You will be responsible for both the maintenance and operation of the back end computer and communication infrastructure, but also the day to day running of the IT helpdesk.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT Manager is responsible for the day to day operation of the IT department. This includes:

Ensuring that all of the corporate IT infrastructure is operating correctly such as:

  • Communication services (Exchange, Brightmail SMTP gateways, Cisco VoIP, Blackberry Enterprise Servers, Cisco IPCC call center)
  • File Servers (Windows 2003 Server, Hitachi AMS 500 SAN, Qlogic switches)
  • Collaboration Services (IIS, Sharepoint)
  • Networks (Wireless, Remote Access via Juniper appliance)
  • Data Protection (Veritas Netbackup, LTO-3 tape librarary)
  • Assisting the IT Director with development of projects and project plans around the IT Infrastructure to ensure that the computing environment supports the growth of the company.
  • Assisting in the development of appropriate policies and procedures for IT to ensure that the activities of the team meet the appropriate regulatory requirements such as those laid down by Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Management of the IT Helpdesk Team including the monitoring of day to day activities and the prioritization of projects and group responsibilities.
  • Assisting the IT Director in the strategic growth of the IT department including the preparation of budgets, capital and operational expenditure, hiring of key IT staff and development and presentation of key IT recommendations to company management.
  • Communicating updates around IT tasks and projects to Shutterfly management in both written and verbal formats.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ Years experience in Information Technology
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualifications in the field of Computer Science
  • Certifications in Windows Server, Exchange, or Cisco technologies, and previous Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Second language considered a plus!
