Training & Quality Manager

The Training & Quality Manager will direct training and quality programs needed to support company objectives and will report to the Senior Director of Operations.

Operations are responsible for the manufacturing of all products in multiple facilities within the US.

Mission:

The primary mission of this position will be two fold:

  • The Training Manager will be responsible for identifying the training needs for Lab Operations (not including Customer Service and Procurement) and putting together an annual training plan using external and internal company resources. The Training Manager will document the process by creating training documents and systems to build best practices.
  • The Quality Manager will be responsible for building a quality program for manufactured products and coordinating resources to achieve our quality objectives. The Training & Quality Manager will be responsible for reporting results back to management and identify areas of improvement.

A positive win-win approach, involving internal and external stakeholders, will be necessary to accomplish the mission in accordance with established company polices and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop training and product quality strategies, internal processes, and metrics to improve the overall results of the company
  • Work closely with the management of all departments in the development of training and product quality plans and processes in alignment with company objectives
  • Development of annual training and product quality plans to include measuring and benchmarking of manufacturing performance
  • Manage the overall product quality plan and training plan
  • Manage the Q4 training needs
  • Organize and execute company training and product quality processes
  • Manage statistical process control programs
  • Monitor and report product quality based upon set metrics
  • Assist in the development of processes for new and existing products with regard to training needs and product quality
  • Perform training of new and existing processes
  • Work with vendor / contractors to cover training needs

Skills and Attributes Needed:

  • Be able to identify training needs and build training plans
  • Be able to define and execute quality processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Have strong project management skills with a focus on results
  • Demonstrate ability to lead others to a win-win conclusion
  • Have effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Work closely with managers / supervisors and leads within Operations
  • Have a positive, mutually beneficial attitude and a willingness to take responsibility
  • Possess strong analytical skills and detail orientation as needed
  • Ability to execute multiple priorities in a timely manner

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Skills and attributes as stated above
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in manufacturing industries including experience from commercial and/or digital printing
  • Project Management experience
  • Training or Educational activity experience
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • Significant experience in a multi unit, international company
  • Strong Excel, Word and Power Point skills
